Membership Information

People's Advocate is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(4) grass-roots organization. It uses the powers reserved to the people (initiative, referendum and recall) to promote tax reform and other important statewide and national issues.

People's Advocate is committed to action-oriented projects. Every effort is made to disseminate its views and proposals to the people and their representatives nationally and locally to ensure that the will of the people will prevail.

Elected officials pay close attention to public pressure. Thus, your membership is important because you join with many others to create and build the powerful political force so badly needed for our success. We have approximately 300,000 members and contributors in California alone. We are such a strong voice that legislators are lobbying us to support their views.

Full membership in People's Advocate requires having your signature on file at the corporate office and paying an annual fee of $15.00. We also rely heavily on voluntary contributions from individuals and groups and we do solicit contributions throughout the year to support our projects. We receive no public funding,

Because People's Advocate engages in extensive political activity, contributions or gifts made to People's Advocate are not deductible for federal or state income tax purposes.
