Boardmember Emeritus

Mr. Benvenuti, Sr. was a long-time friend of Paul Gann. In 1983, Paul asked Dan to join People's Advocate and serve on its Board of Directors. When Paul became ill in 1984, Dan served as President until 1986. After Paul died, Dan became Chairman of the Board and remained its chairman until he retired in 1998. He was elected a lifetime honorary member emeritus of the Board of Directors.

Dan was a top advisor to Paul Gann and, later, to Ted Costa. He possesses skills as a negotiator and has a great practical view of peoples' politics.

Dan was born in New Jersey in 1930, one of eleven children born to his preacher dad. He came to Sacramento in the late 1950s and became involved in real estate and construction. He is now retired but he still is one phone call away.
